What is a Supplemental Finding?

Add Nuance and Additional Context to Your Diagnostic Conclusions

"Supplemental Findings" in Psynth provide a flexible text field for adding important clinical context that doesn't fit into a formal DSM diagnosis but is crucial for a comprehensive report. This feature allows you to elaborate on diagnostic qualifiers, eligibility criteria, or other significant observations.

When to Use "Supplemental Findings"

  • Qualifiers for Diagnoses: If you have a broad diagnosis (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder) but want to add more specific qualifiers or details about the patient's presentation within that diagnosis.

  • Combined Diagnoses: When you've identified multiple diagnoses (e.g., ASD and ADHD) and want to clarify which is considered primary.

  • Eligibility for Services: Documenting findings related to eligibility for specific services (e.g., "Jackson is eligible for an IEP in the school district").

  • Non-DSM Findings: Include any additional clinical information or conclusions that are not formal DSM diagnoses but are important for the report (e.g., “Jaxon meets the criteria for intellectual giftedness.).

How to Add a Supplemental Finding

  1. Navigate to the Summary of Findings/Diagnosis Section: After generating your report, scroll to the "Summary of Findings" section, immediately below your last assessment. Click Get Started to open the Diagnosis panel.

  2. Locate "Supplemental Finding": After selecting your primary diagnosis (or indicating no diagnosis), you'll see a field for "Supplemental Finding."

  3. Enter Your Text: Type or paste any additional context or information you wish to include. This is a free-text field.

Psynth will integrate this supplemental information into your report, providing a more detailed and nuanced picture of your findings.
